Five Minute Friday Experiment - Hero

To understand my experiment you must go here first- http://lisajobaker.com/five-minute-friday/

Hero.

Hero is a very powerful word. People are heroes to others without even knowing it. I believe heroes should be labeled as such for not only their actions but for WHO they are too. Sure, anyone stranger could pull someone out of traffic or from a burning building, but how you handle yourself every day makes you just as much a hero.

Our pastor talked about super heroes a few weeks ago in his sermon. Of course everyone could relate to the big ones; Superman, Spider-man, Wonder Woman, Captain America. I could go on listing heroes. But what got me was how our pastor made us stop and think about the every day heroes.  Those of us who get up at 5:30 in the morning to straighten hair or drive 3 hours in a blizzard to get to or from a sporting event. The hero that stays up with a sick baby or comforts their child after their first heart break. These are true heroes. Pastor was right.

I sat there in church thinking about all the every day heroes that I love. I love my husband because he is MY hero. He saved me in so many ways..and he is beyond my better half. He truly completes me.

My kids are heroes - they deal with a lot in this day and age and they are fantastic.

My parents are heroes for dealing with me all these years (and my brother.)

I could go on, but I can only write for 5 minutes...and my time is up.  But I hope you have a chance to not only THINK about heroes in your life, but maybe take time today to thank them. They might not even know they are a hero.
